Transport from the Airport to the Hotel. Shuttles and taxis are available from either Midway or O'Hare to the hotel. Please note, however, that traffic from the airports into the Loop can be very heavy, and it is usually quicker to take the train. From O'Hare, take the blue line directly from the airport to the Clark/Lake stop, then walk three blocks west along Lake and two blocks up Wacker to the hotel. From Midway, take the orange line directly from the airport to the State/Lake stop, then walk one block west along Lake, and two blocks up Wacker to the hotel. Transport in Chicago. The University of Chicago is located in Hyde Park, which is about 20 mins by bus from the Loop. It is relatively easy to get a taxi from the Loop to Hyde Park, but please note that it can be difficult to find one going in the opposite direction. Find the number for a taxi company here.
The quickest and easiest way to get to Hyde Park from the hotel on public transport is to walk two blocks east from the hotel to State Street, and get the 6 bus south to Hyde Park. The 28 and the 10 will also take you to Hyde Park. From the bus stop in Hyde Park you will need to walk about 15 mins to the campus. Maps for the CTA, Chicago's public transport system, are here. CTA tickets can be brought and recharged at train stations (including at both airports). Note that you can pay in cash on buses, but they will not give change and you cannot recharge a ticket on a bus.
